Offering High-speed 4G Connectivity to Rural Ohio Businesses and Residents
Lod, Israel — January 28, 2014 — Telrad Networks, a global provider of innovative 4G wireless and telecommunications solutions, has announced that Hometown Cable, an Ohio-based voice, video and data services provider, selected Telrad 4G wireless broadband network equipment to deliver high-speed broadband services to thousands of residents and businesses.
Working with Wireless Connections, a leading systems integrator, Hometown Wireless is in the deployment phase of a large wireless network aimed to cover Darke and Preble Counties in Ohio. The network, operating in the 3.65 GHz band, is utilizing Telrad’s BreezeCOMPACT carrier-grade base station and a variety of end user devices. The network has been partially funded by an award received though the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), aimed at expanding broadband availability, especially through rural areas in the United States.
In addition to offering high-speed broadband services to the county residents and businesses, Hometown Cable Wireless will also be supplying county First Responders with the core benefit of mobility, enabling 24/7 access to vital information from anywhere in the coverage area. Telrad’s flagship product, BreezeCOMPACT, has a unique single-box architecture which provides macro base-station performance in an optimized all-outdoor, small-cell form factor with software radio design, enabling a seamless migration from WiMAX to LTE-Advanced. “After a delay with government approvals, we’re extremely happy to finally be on our way to completing this wireless network deployment powered by Telrad equipment,” stated Aaron Miller, CEO at Hometown Cable. “The Telrad solutions and expertise suit our needs very well, enabling a quick deployment and offering optimized coverage and capacity. Many of our customers have been awaiting broadband services for a long time and we are pleased to finally be able to offer them this valuable 4G connectivity.”
Ran Bukshpan, CEO at Telrad, added, “Telrad products are ideal in delivering 4G broadband connectivity to rural and underserved areas. We are pleased to work together with Wireless Connections to provide high-performance, cost-saving, 4G solutions to Hometown Cable, and support them in expanding their service offering and achieving growth, while providing advanced and unique services to their customers with WiMAX today and LTE in the future.” Telrad solutions, operating in the sub-6 GHz bands, offer reliable 4G wireless broadband connectivity and future-proof software-upgradeable to LTE features. With maximum coverage and capacity, operators maintain more efficient, cost-effective networks that deliver an optimal user experience to fixed users as well as those on the move.
