Providing to Greek system integrator Raycap an innovative broadband wireless solution for OTE deployment

TEL AVIV, Israel, September 11, 2013 – Telrad Networks, a global provider of wireless telecommunication solutions, is providing to Greek system integrator Raycap an innovative broadband wireless solution based on the BreezeCOMPACT, to connect rural Greek areas without the need for installing additional wireline infrastructure.

Raycap has signed a contract with OTE (Hellenic Telecommunications Organization S.A.) for the supply, installation, operational launch and maintenance of a Point-to-Multipoint fixed wireless access network in rural areas of Greece, which will replace existing legacy infrastructure. The OTE tender included ten wireless vendors in the first phase, with four finalists participating in the trial phase.

The initial site surveys and the rollout of the network are currently underway, to provide voice and broadband services to 150 sites in 2013.

Telrad’s flagship product, the BreezeCOMPACT, part of the 4G broadband wireless access (BWA) portfolio acquired from Alvarion, has a unique single-box architecture which provides macro base-station performance in an optimized all-outdoor small-cell form factor with software radio design, enabling a smooth evolution from WiMAX to LTE-Advanced.  Telrad purchased Alvarion’s BWA division in May 2013.
