Making high-speed Internet available to underserved areas and improving connectivity to residents and businesses alike

LOD, ISRAEL – October 6, 2016 Telrad Networks, global provider of TD-LTE broadband solutions, today announced that Resound Networks, a Texas-based Internet service provider, has been growing its Internet service operation and increasing capacity to its broadband network with Telrad LTE technology, delivering higher Internet speeds to residents and businesses in the Texas panhandle area.

Operating in the 3.65 GHz frequency band, Resound Networks has been deploying Telrad LTE since the first quarter of 2016. Starting as a test site in its home base of Pampa, Resound has since expanded its LTE operation into nearby Wheeler and Shamrock. The second phase of deployment is continuing with deployments into Wellington, Canadian, White Deer and Lefors, with a coverage area of approximately 30,000 residents. Resound is currently working the design for another expansion in 2017.

“Our biggest challenges prior to working with Telrad have been limited capacity, radio interference from other equipment, and reaching customers in non-line-of-sight (NLOS) conditions due to high tree density. Telrad has been able to help us contend with each of these issues,” commented Bryan Waldrip, CEO of Resound Networks. “Their equipment has given us the ability to reach new customers in areas that were not previously viable, while increasing overall capacity. We are really excited about what Telrad is offering and to become part of the LTE ecosystem with such a great partner.”

Resound is currently using the Telrad Networks flagship BreezeCOMPACT 1000 base station with the high-performance, outdoor CPE7000 subscriber units. The company has also begun to leverage the new, LTE CPE8000 subscriber units. The combination of Telrad’s advanced software-defined radio (SDR), affordable and scalable EPC, and cost-effective CPE provides Resound Networks with a standards based solution, which allows for software-only upgrades, and the ability to overcome non-line-of-sight challenges.

“Resound Networks is not alone in facing tremendous customer demand for higher capacity, in increasingly challenging environments,” stated Chris Daniels, Vice President and Regional GM of North America for Telrad. “Resound is effectively tackling these issues, which are common to service providers globally, by evolving their network to LTE. Telrad is very happy to be a part of their exceptional growth, in the relatively short time since their inception in 2015, and we look forward to our continued role in their success. Telrad offers the strongest, most flexible fixed LTE product suite on the market and we have a robust roadmap that will continue to address the most challenging operator scenarios.”

Telrad solutions, operating in the sub-6 GHz bands, offer reliable 4G wireless broadband connectivity. With maximum coverage and capacity, operators maintain more efficient, cost-effective networks that deliver an optimal user experience to a residential and business customer base.
