Overcoming connectivity challenges that competitor 4G vendors failed to address

Lod, Israel — November 6, 2014 – Telrad Networks, a global provider of innovative 4G wireless and telecom solutions, today announced that BridgeNet Wireless, a leading Internet service provider based in North-Central Florida, has been expanding its broadband network leveraging Telrad’s BreezeCOMPACT 1000 solution. Following successful trial deployments this summer, Telrad was the sole provider to overcome challenging Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) issues that other providers could not solve.

Telrad’s technology enables BridgeNet to take immediate advantage of advanced software-defined radio (SDR) base stations that provide near future-proof capabilities, such as additional frequency support and capacity upgrades over time, while increasing coverage and capacity for its residential and business customers. BridgeNet offers high-speed broadband communication, data and VoIP services to residents in one of Florida’s largest planned retirement communities, On Top of The World, as well as the surrounding areas of Ocala and Clermont, Florida.

In 2012, when BridgeNet was expanding its network, it ran into access trouble due to thick tree density completely obstructing Line-of-Sight (LOS) paths. In almost two years of searching for a solution, the only solutions BridgeNet could find were to create multiple paths around the obstruction or elevate the existing infrastructure. Both options required a large investment in equipment, labor, and ongoing operational expense. After discovering Telrad technology, they were able to connect customers who previously could not be connected at all, and do so with capacity far exceeding requirements.

“With such a challenging coverage area, the cost and time impairments required by other vendors would have been debilitating to our business operations,” said Jorge Santiago, Operations Manager for BridgeNet Wireless. “We not only chose Telrad for their ability to deliver the right equipment for our environment, but also for their impressive product performance, exceptional customer service and competitive pricing. It was such a relief, after two years of failed R&D efforts with other vendors – to find a solution that worked!”

“BridgeNet has found, similarly to many of our other customers, that the BreezeCOMPACT brings a wealth of advantages to any network,” stated Chris Daniels, General Manager of North America for Telrad. “The smaller footprint, lower power consumption and lower total cost of ownership makes it an obvious winner. We’re happy to serve BridgeNet and their customers while helping drive growth in the region.”

Telrad solutions, operating in the sub-6 GHz bands, offer reliable 4G wireless broadband connectivity. With maximum coverage and capacity, operators maintain more efficient, cost-effective networks that deliver an optimal user experience to fixed users as well as those on the move.
